AI Panel brings together AI experts from across government to discuss strategy, use cases, ethics and scaling

The AI Panel at Government Transformation Summit brings together experts in AI from government and industry to discuss AI strategy, use cases, transparency and operational scaling. 

This focused panel conversation will feature Shehroze Junejo, Executive Director and Chief Data Officer at, UK Government Investments; Nayyab Naqvi, Principal Technologist for AI Adoption, Government Digital Service and Duncan Brown, Head of Software Engineering, Incubator for AI. 

The first topic of conversation will be developing a clear AI strategy which aligns with wider public sector goals, outlines investment priorities and contains clear governance structures to ensure accountability. 

Following this, the panel will be exploring AI use cases in government, identifying key AI applications in government and discussing examples in fraud detection, public health forecasting and services which automate citizen support. 

Ensuring ethical and transparent AI deployment is the next discussion topic. This focuses on embedding principles like fairness, accountability and bias minimisation into AI development to maintain public trust. 

Finally, the panel will discuss operationalising AI at scales, building infrastructure, data pipelines, procurement models and workforce capabilities to progress pilots to production and sustainably integrate Ai into existing operations.
