Andrew Western MP, Parliamentary Undersecretary of State for Transformation at the Department for Work and Pensions is delivering the keynote address at this year's Government Transformation Summit on 24th June.
Western is the UK's only MP dedicated to government transformation. His role encompasses a number of sectors including digital AI and Service Modernisation and customer experience.
Currently Labour MP for Stretford and Urmston, Western previously worked in the engineering sector, specialising in transport and infrastructure project management.
Back in November, Western kicked off the Government Transformation Expo with a speech that called government leaders into action saying "we cannot afford to stand still" on embracing new technologies and AI.
Western emphasised that citizen experience is a key aspect of successful transformation, saying “humans must remain at the heart of what we do.”
Joining on of Government Transformation Summit's unique discussion tables, Western underscored the importance of ethical deployment highlighting that: “transformation is not about technology for technology’s sake; it’s about improving lives, creating opportunities, and building a better future for everyone.”
