DWP Digital appoints new Chief Digital and Information Office

Former Leeds NHS and Boots digital chief Richard Corbridge has been appointed Chief Digital and Information Officer at DWP Digital.

Corbridge will take over from Simon McKinnon who has held the position for four years, during which time he led the department through a complex digital transformation, overseeing the switch from outsourcing IT contracts to moving these in-house.

Corbridge will lead the team of digital specialists in DWP Digital who are responsible for building and maintaining the digital services that enable millions of UK citizens to receive the financial advice and support they need. 1647431335389-2

He said: “I’m thrilled to be joining DWP, an amazing organisation that is on an exciting digital journey. I’m looking forward to meeting lots of people in my first few weeks and finding out more about this amazing machine.

“The next few years will bring fresh digital challenges and innovative developments and I relish the chance to be at the DWP Digital helm.”

Last year DWP launched its Digital Future strategy, which sets out how the department aims to significantly transform the way it works over the next three years.

The department is currently overseeing a number of long-term data projects, including facilitating the transition from on premise warehousing to Cloud-based data products and rebuilding the department’s database reference architecture through the implementation of a data mesh.
